The Winner of the Passaic County Flight War is...

The first ever Flight War took place on Wednesday December 30th, with Seven Tribesmen Brewery going head to head against Ghost Hawk Brewery to earn the title of Passaic County's Best Brewery! The battle was to help promote Wayne's brand new brewery along with Passaic County's first ever brewery, and together we showcased what small business is all about - getting the community together. Over 100 flights were poured and voting commenced on different categories to see what patrons loved the best. The head brewers and employees of Ghost Hawk and Seven Tribesmen were present with giveaways for all, and stopped by tables to answer questions and spark some friendly rivalry. At the end of each flight tasting, patrons were asked to vote on a 5 star rating of each beer, their favorite beer, the beer that most surprised them, the most drink-able beer, and lastly, the Best Brewery. All of the categories were neck and neck, and both breweries really put forth a good showing.

The beer that ran away with the most awards, was Seven Tribesmen's Campfire Tales Porter. At an astonishing 4.4 stars, it was clearly a crowd favorite as it won most surprising as well. The dark coloration, but smooth taste and hints of chocolate and hazlenut earned this beer a tie for favorite overall beer.

The victor of the first ever Passaic County Flight War goes to: Ghost Hawk Brewery! We congratulate both breweries, and The Taphouse will be presenting Ghost Hawk with a plaque to commemorate this victory.

This flight war is the first in a series of tournaments to find out the true best brewery in NJ! Next up will be Montclair Brewery versus Four City Brewing in February in the first installment of the Essex County Flight War Championships.
